TheSwinging-Cylinder Gyro-Piston Engine is an idea for a lifting device to allow objects to float above the ground. It would do this without conventional means of support such as rotors, wings, propellor, rocket, magnetic field etc. It is an idea for an anti-gravity device such as those popularly imagined to be used in flying saucers or UFO's. It is based on the ideas of Prof. Eric Laithwaite, formerly of Imperial College, University of London, and on the idea that gyroscopes can exhibit levitation even when they are unsupported.
