vikrant paralkar I am Vikrant Paralkar! I am 23 and a student of Electronics Engineering at the Padmabhushan Vasantdada Patil Pratishthan's College of Engineering in Mumbai.

One of my most cherished hobbies has been drawing and painting. I used to draw and paint right from the age of 2 years. At the age of 2 years and 3 months, I won my first prize in a drawing competition. There was no looking back since then. I won my greatest honour when I received the silver medal in the Shankar's International Children's Drawing Competition from the hands of the then President of India, Mr. Ramaswami Venkataraman.Silver Medal at the hands of the President of India, Mr R. I have been fascinated with the mysteries of the universe right from my early childhood and this fascination was only enhanced when my father bought me a reflective telescope when I was in the 5th grade in school. I have often tried to unravel the enigma of the depths of the skies by training my telescope to the heavens but it has only served to increase the mystification. My interest in astronomy has led me to join the Amateur Astronomers' Association (Bombay) and I thoroughly enjoy the field trips to look at the marvels of the skies.

During the course of my school studies, I had to do a project on any subject of my choice and, given my interest in astronomy, it was any natural that I would choose a subject which was related to it. I selected
a mosaic of planets visited by the voyagers"The Enchanting Discoveries of the Voyager Space Mission" as the subject of my project work. I enjoyed every moment of excavating information from old issues of the National Geographic Magazine and from a number of books on Astronomy. Last but not the least, I got some useful and interesting data from the Horizon series on BBC TV. With the advent of the Internet into our lives and the opening of the vast vistas of information and knowledge, I was tempted to present my humble effort on my own webpage so that millions of young people could benefit from it.
