Lightyears

While I was reading a book on astronomy I was amazed at how big the universe really is! It is so big we cannot measure it in tiny kilometers, we have to use something much larger. That something is a LIGHTYEAR! I bet your asking yourself "What is a lightyear?" Well a lightyear is a unit of interstellar space measurement. One l.y. (lightyear) is how far light will travel in one year. How far is that? Well if light travels 299,800 kilometers in 1 second and there are 31,560,000 seconds in a year that means in one year light can travel....
9,461,000,000,000 km!
Well now that everyone knows what a lightyear is, I'm going to take you on a cosmic voyage at the speed of light!
