Intro
With this site I
wanted to publish the results of my genealogical research.
This genealogical
research, or better, this out-of-hand hobby, is about my own surname Coelingh and the varieties of this surname ( like
Coeling and Koeling ). It also includes the surnames which have a
connection with the Coelingh family
Because the earliest
known written sign of Coelingh ( in 1431 the "Kulingheguet" ),
was found in the hamlet of Echten, south of Ruinen, there are not only
diverse pedigrees of Coelingh's from Ruinen in this site, but there is also
information about the village Ruinen itself, including its
history. On this site, you will also find the people who lived there
(pedigrees) and the complete digitized and
searchable index of the Ruiner marriagebooks from 1682 to 1751 and 1762 to
1811( D.T.B. number 96 and 97).
There is also a
searchable index of the marriagebooks of Ruinerwold from 1661 to
1693, 1707 to 1709 and 1727 to 1811 (D.T.B. number 98). For more
information about the indexes I am working on, visit the under
construction page.
Of course there are
the necesary links to friends with the same genealogical hobby and to the diverse archives like Genlias, a real must when you can't find an
ancester who lived in the northern part of the Netherlands in the period
1812 to 1935. If you find that missing person, Genlias gives you the
possibility to get a copy of the official records for a smal fee.
Maybe the Drents Historische Vereniging (D.H.V.) (Dutch Historical Society) has
something to offer you, or maybe you are interested in the Saxon language,
then you have to visit Plat(t) Online, the worldwide forum of the
Saxon language.
Therefore I invite
you to visit this site. I hope you will find that piece of the genealogical
puzzle you were looking for. Knowing there are enough missing pieces
remaining, makes genealogy a hobby for you in the future.
