ASSEMBLY

  1. Insert small end of 7 into 6, and precisely mark how far it goes in.
  2. Screw parts 4, 5 , and 6 together tight.
  3. Measure the space from the open end of 6 to the end of 4.
  4. Measure the distance marked in step 1, add ¼". Subtract this total from the distance measured in step3.
  5. Mark the result of step 4 on part 6, and cut part 6 off at this mark.
  6. Insert 7 into 6, align it carefully and weld the two parts together.
  7. Weld part 8 to the side of part 5. Drill ¼" or larger hole into part 5 through the opening in part 8.
  8. Insert part 3 into part 4 and tighten with part 14.
  9. Assemble all parts as shown in diagram.
  10. Install assembly on apparatus, keeping simplicity of operation of primary concern.

CALIBRATION

  1. Hook up as long a hose line as you will ever use and attach the foam nozzle you are going to use.
  2. Open the metering valve and the ball valve.
  3. Start pumping water through foam eductor, hose line, and nozzle. Set pump at desired operating pressure.
  4. A strong vacuum should be maintained at the ball valve. If no vacuum or little vacuum is obtained, install a smaller choke bean. Maximum efficiency will be achieved with the largest size choke bean that will still produce a strong vacuum at the ball valve.
  5. A workable pick up tube can be made from an 18" piece of ½" pipe and a length of ¾" clear vinyl tubing.
  6. If everything has gone well to this point, try the system using the foam concentrate of your choice. Adjusting the metering valve should produce consistent foam mixing all the way from 0% to10%. Make a note of the metering valve settings that produce the desired result with the particular foam concentrates you are using.
