Ying Jow Pai 1st Anniversary Celebration

On May 20, 2000 the Eagle Claw Kung Fu Center celebrated its first anniversary. It was also Master Joel Rodriguez's birthday (we won't say what year). The Eagle Claw Kung Fu Center is located in Midtown Atlanta above the United Artists 8 movie theater two blocks from Piedmont Park. The pictures below were all taken in the courtyard below the school and in front of the movie theater. Master Rodriguez our shifu (or teacher) was recently honored with a master title. He is one of only six people worldwide to hold a master rank in Ying Jow Pai. Note that the pictures below might look a little fuzzy, because I wanted this page to load in under ten minutes.

Our Inspiration

Faye is our inspiration. Her level of determination is unmatched. The following pictures are of two forms Faye performed for us that day. One of these forms is the cane form. So why would Faye learn such a form? It could be because she shattered her ankle into seventeen pieces a few years ago. Today with the aid of her strong will power and a brace she is able to walk, and more amazingly, do kung fu. Every time I see Faye I am inspired to work harder. Thanks for everything, Faye!

Our Future

As with all things are children are the future of the Eagle Claw school. Studying kung fu is a family activity and we have numerous families who are all involved with our school.

Our Students

Empty Hand Forms

Weapons Forms

Our Tai Chi

Mastering Tai Chi will improve one's kung fu. Therefore, the Eagle Claw Kung Fu Center also offers tai chi training.

Our Shifu

It is rare for someone to have both extreme talent and strong teaching abilities. We are fortunate to have both of these traits in our shifu (sifu in Cantonese) Master Joel Rodriguez. As if this were not enough, Master Rodriguez is also a certified personal trainer.
