A full 75 years before the pharoh that built the famous temple shown above, Ramses II, was born, another pharoh ascended the Egyptian throne that would deliver a cultural shock as great as has been seen in all of recorded history. This intriguing person was Amenhotep IV, better known to history as Akhenaten.
