Was enjoying your pages,
and the music, and thought
you might like to have a
copy of my poem.
 

"Half a World Away"
 

I can't imagine what it would be like
to know my own government had
abandoned me.

I was on a little op once, and my
division officer told me before
we shoved off,

"Whatever you do, don't get your
ass captured,
because we won't know you".

I went, and did my duty, but I
was scared out of my gourd for
the entire three days and nights
we were in country.

The bitterness those guys must feel,
and the utter hopelessness.
