I'm trying to plan my wedding on an island for the beginning of October of 2001. Please advise as to which islands are less prone to hurricane season than others. It would be greatly appreciated.

Planning a possible cruise which would originate in Alcapulco (Pacific) and end in San Juan Puerto Rico (Atlantic). I was wondering what is typically thought of as being the Hurrican Season?

I live in Pinellas County and my employer wanted us to go over the Sunshine Skyway Bridge to go to work in an evacuation area which was a level A. Do you think it is right we do not get paid cause we took the safety of our family and ourselves before our ob?

What will happen to our waterfront cinderblock home in Rincon, PR tonite? Rincon is on the west coast between Mayaguez and Aguadilla. The beach sand has been terribly eroded since last winter.

Why, oh why? Why is the Atlantic so quiet for mid- August? Any ideas or predictions from anyone? I just suggest everyone tries TropNet (as mentioned on the homepage). Most nights at 7pm, there is an interactive broadcast. The rest of the day, there are au omated forecasts. Whenever there is an active system, be sure to check in often!

Any reactions or comments to the statement issued by NOAA and the TPC about increased tropical activiy from August to October? If Gray's prediction is going to be true (10 tropical storms), the Atlantic had better get kicking soon. This afternoon, there a e no real areas of interests.

TD 1 will slowly stenghten becoming a tropical storm sometime today. Looks like the convection is starting to rap around the center, but I'm a little concern that its taking more of a WNW track. If it has any hopes of affecting the US, it has to remain o its westward track.

Why no response NHC....? CLIMATOLOGY...If it was about 2 weeks deeper into the season.,more attention would be payed to these waves. However if the wave east of the Bahamas continues to hold onto its convection.,and continues to organize. You will see a statement later today.(Fri .The wave is having problems with strong easterlies at the moment but what appears to an upper low to it,s west may slow slow the easterlies, but if the upper low developes it create an atmosphere of strong SW winds aloft.

The tropics are getting more active this week. Several waves in the tropical Atlantic could develop along with a wave in the Caribbean. I just wonder why the NHC isn't mentioning any of these waves. Why do yall think the NHC is doing this?
