Under the direction of Mr. Gewanter, students travel to the University of New Haven to compete against many teams from high schools across the state. Of three Simsbury High School teams sent to the competition, SHS recieved a first and third place trophy in Connecticut's large school division, the largest of all divisions. |

Under the direction of Mr. Fastiggi and Mr. Avery, students in this competition join forces to design and construct a working prototype of a device that solves one of societies problems. In 1995, SHS placed first in Connecticut and fourth in the nation. In 1996, SHS again placed first in the state and was a national finalist. |

Under the direction of Mr. Fastiggi and teamed up with engineers from Ensign Bickford Industries, students design and construct a robot to compete nationally against over ninety other teams. |
