How Goes It
at
SARTS???
I get a lot of questions regarding the traffic we handle here at the SARTS.
with about 5000 Radios on the WHMC site, another 1500 on the BAMC site and a couple hundred at Brooks, things can get pretty busy at times.
Our goal is less than 10% busy time. With only 8 local voice channels at WHMC two of which are interconnect capable, things get a little
hectic during the rush hours. Agressive Fleetmapping is the key.
On an average day, we process just over 25,000 dispatch calls with about 200 busies. The average for
a dispatch call is 7-9 seconds while the busy average is usually well under a second. We would love to have a few more freqs for the times things
get really busy. During the times when there are emergencies at multiple locations, it's not unusual to see 20 in the queue. At least they don't
stay there long though... During the next month, I'll put up some actual stats on the usage from the different sites during different conditions,
and show how you can predict the busies and why. till then...
