THE THEME SONG
Paula Cole's "I Don't Want to Wait"

dcthemec.mid 48kb 4min 45.6sec

Thanks to PATHBGUY@aol.com for this awesome MIDI sequence.

dawson1.wav 170kb 68sec

This is the actual song. This file requires the use of software able to play MPEG Layer-3 formatted wave sounds. If you are unable to play this sound (or josong.wav below), go to SoundAmerica for the right stuff. Click on "Can You Play These Sounds?" once you get there.

The (Other) Theme Song
Edwin McCain's "I'll Be"

illbemix.wav 683kb 227.52sec

"I'll Be" is a song that Warner Brothers plays a lot as background for Dawson's Creek commercials, promos and opening segues. It's also the greatest love song ever written...ummm, yeah, no personal opinions here, eh? Well, it was used in the last episode of the first season...so I thought it would be fitting to make some changes. Kind of like that Celine Dione/Titanic song with the movie soundbites interspersed. Let me know what ya'll think about this one. It's well worth downloading...I wouldn't take up this much server space if it wasn't. "Illbemix.wav" is also in the MPEG Layer-3 format...so see above for instructions if you aren't able to play it right away.

laughatu.wav 68kb 6.12sec

"Joey, c'mon, you're my best friend. I'd never laugh at you."
"You just did, Dawson."

pride.wav 183kb 16.57sec

"Because I knew you'd make me feel like an even bigger idiot than I already am. And believe me, Dawson, nobody is laughing harder about this than I am, but, unfortunately, the opportunity to win five thousand dollars, no matter how slim, or humiliating, or ludicrous my chances are...you know, money has to take precedence over everything...including my pride." (She sure gets alot in those sixteen seconds, eh kids?)

dropby.wav 65kb 5.87sec

"Well, actually I just came by to tell you that I couldn't make it...so..."
"You dropped by to tell me you couldn't drop by?"

nauseous.wav 60kb 5.42sec

"Two weeks."

jenjoey.wav 341kb 30.94sec

"In New York I didn't exactly hang out with a lot of other girls...okay? I mean, I've never even had close girlfriends and...and as far as I can tell, neither have you. I don't know...don't you ever feel like your missing out on something?"
"Well, why don't you just go hang out with the Capeside pep squad? I mean, associating with me won't exactly send your popularity points soaring up the social Richter scale."
"For the same reason you don't, allright? Cuz they're a bunch of mentally arrested airheads. You know, your perception of me is almost as misguided as your perception of yourself."
