MALLARDS
The mallard is one of the most popular ducks carved. It is usually the first duck someone will try the act of carving at. The male mallard or drake has a very bright colored green head. While the female or hen has a brown color. The first goal to carving a nice mallard is to secure as much refrence material as you can get. Pictures, mounted birds, and films are some of the best.
