Hillary Clinton in New York State

Syracuse, N. Y. (WEB Wire Service) July 9, 1999 - Hillary Clinton looked stunned when asked for her feelings about the announcement in Los Angeles that Monica Lewinsky was going to run for the Democratic nomination in New York. She grasped the arm of her campaign manager, Sidney Blumenthal, and seemed to falter. Mr. Blumenthal appeared very angry and snarled at the press corps.

"If that woman thinks she can steal the Jewish vote from us she's meshuge. A bat mitzvah does not a Senator make. Even a shiksa has rights"!
Mrs. Clinton carried on with her tour of the PLA Ball Bearing plant mingling with the workers on the assembly line. Many of the female workers had the same coiffure styling as Mrs. Clinton and she was very attentive to their comments, especially concerning the neutron bomb and ice-box cookies. When asked later about the use of the ball bearings in cluster bombs, Mrs. Clinton said,
"There are good and bad uses of everything. Everything in the village is a zero-sum game".
Mrs. Clinton was accompanied by former governor Mario Cuomo and his son Andrew, a high official in the Clinton administration. Governor Cuomo praised Mrs. Clinton's tenacity in the face of the Republican smears over Whitewater, cattle futures, and the firings in the travel office.
"I promise you," Cuomo said, "that there will be a new birth of entitlements when Hillary Rodham Clinton is elected".

"You betch'a," chimed in Andrew.

Mrs. Clinton also visited the Onondaga Indian reservation and promised to introduce legislation in the Senate to pay the tribe $100 million dollars for the salt works 'stolen' by the state in 1797. She praised the Iroquois as a peaceable nation and promised government assistance in establishing a gambling casino that would rival Las Vegas.

Mr. Blumenthal called a news conference as Mrs. Clinton left in her limosine and gave his reflections on the Lewinsky announcement.

"We've talked to Al Sharpton and he is in our pocket. We don't know which bar Breslin and Mailer are in but they don't carry much weight with the typical New York voter. I mean, really, they have never heard of Breslin in Buffalo. As for Cardinal O'Connor, how many tanks does he have? Huh! Give me a break! If you want the real scoop on this. I mean the real scoop. Just watch the Sunday news shows where Lanny Davis and James Carville will expose it all. Yea, you're right! Ken Starr!
