- Georgia’s David Richardson set a new Sunbelt record with eight stolen bases. The previous record was seven by Ryan Freel in 1994 and Damon Thompson in 1992; both played for Florida
- Ohio’s J. B. Shuck set a record with two triples in a game
- Oklahoma coach Bobby Buck is the only former Sunbelt player to come back and coach in the series. Buck is the current coach at Perkins.
- The only player to ever throw a no-hitter in the Sunbelt was Edmond North’s Matt Roney in 1998 vs. California
