Sandy McKinnon has been a professional artist for over 12 years, and she has developed a style of pointillism which accommodated a fanciful imaginative style, as well as a tight, realistic approach to her subjects.  Born in Calgary, Alberta, Sandy has spent most of her time living on the West Coast.  (At one time she was one of the three inhabitants of Calvert Island in Hakai Pass, British Columbia.)  It was during the long, and particularly wet seasons on the island, that Sandy's artwork flourished and her work continued on as an honours art student, both in high school and college.

While living in Germany, she established a reputation as a portrait renderer and enjoyed a three week exhibit of her work in Burg Wallbach.  After achieving her Diploma in Display and Design from Langara College, she worked as an architectural renderer in Vancouver, B.C.  Sandy works in a variety of mediums including watercolour, airbrush, and pen and ink.  Her illustration work includes the book, "Living Things We Love to Hate" by Des Kennedy, as well as a layout feature in Pacific Rim Magazine.  Her art has also been printed in catalogues and reproduced in creative writing magazines.

Sandy McKinnon is a member of the American Society of Architectural Illustrators and works as a full time freelance artist and illustrator.
