Varena ( a chef):
I'm originally from Horsham, England, and moved to Canberra nine years ago after a couple of years working in Italy and 3 years in South Africa.We now live in Darwin, Northern Territory. I have travelled around Australia and love taking photo's of the brilliant wildlife (my favourite is the wombat) and countryside. I'm not a great sports fan. Geoff takes great delight in "bagging" the Pommie teams but doesn't get a bite. I enjoyed rollerblading around Canberra's lakes and am a great movie buff. I have a 7 year old black cat named Luce (Italian for light).

I lived in Canberra until December 2000 when we moved to Darwin. Apart from a couple of years living in South Australia, I lived there most of my life. I have played a lot of sports but mainly follow Aussie Rules (North Melbourne and Kingston Wolves), Rugby League (St. George), Rugby Union (Brumbies), Cricket and anything else with a ball in it.
