Last updated Changes since
my last edit: CHANGES COMING UP SOON! I Have a lot of stuff planned. A BIG thanks to all who write that like my page..it helps. Next up is pics of various transmissions. I know I keep promising updates and I will do it. I also want to do a step-by-step on a transmission for the "home" builder. That is, for people who want to do it themselves. I dedicated my page and time from the start to help people to learn. I do not know everything, nor do I claim to and I am always open to new ideas and suggestions. I also plan on adding some more info to various other places on my site, so bear with me. I have a lot of people wanting to know if I build transmissions. YES< I do. I can build anything you want from as mild to as wild as you want. For high performance use, I use only Weddle Industries components. I KNOW for a fact that they are tough..as this is what I use myself (with grooved tractor type tires), and also having a lot of people that I have built for having excellent results. I do all assembly myself so I know what goes in it. I have always tried to answer any questions that anyone has, and I always will. It's just that some people would rather just have one built for them instead of learning the technical aspect of it and that is no problem..just ask.
If you are having trouble with Weber carbs "losing a cylinder" at the upper RPM range, then check it out in my "Tips" section. I also added a general tuning and setting up Webers on my tips page. Thanks to everyone who continues to write and for the compliments! Sharing knowledge is why I built this site.
I will list changes here each time I add something... I am also planning on adding a section for Water-cooled engine alternatives. There are a lot of people going to this with mixed attitudes from a lot of people. I understand that a lot of people are dedicated to air cooled only, and I respect this. But some people want something different (or cheaper--water cooled is a lot cheaper for the HP return), and I understand that as well. There are advantages and dis-advantages of both. More on this soon...

A BIG thanks to all the people at GEOCITIES. If it wasn't for them, this site would not be possible.
Hello, My name is Eric DeBord and welcome to my page. I made this page
for anyone who enjoys rail/dune buggies and off roading. I have been riding
rail buggies for over 14 years and I have been to a lot of places, seen
a lot of buggies, and climbed a lot of hills. I will be adding a LOT of
information to this site, especially to the transmission page. I have a
lot of tranny parts for sale also.
If you need any advice, or have any ideas, opinions, or whatever, e-mail me. A lot of people have complimented my site<< Thanks. The reason I made it was to help someone by sharing the knowledge I have learned over the years. By the way, I live in Eastern KY.
My Tribute to Gene Berg
Gene Berg.. I wish I had met the man that surely has made one of the
greatest contributions to the VW world than any other single person. I
have read many of his writings and the knowledge he possesed was amazing.
He was always active in the VW scene and he dedicated his life to it. I
have been told that he was strong in what he believed yet was open for
discussion if you had a legitimate point of veiw. Thats the way a mechanic
needs to be. There are a lot of different ways to approach things and I
can see a lot of the way he reasoned in my own thinking. When I would read
his catalogs and tech books, I would sometimes question what he wrote until
I learned the hard way (or saw someone else that did). Thanks for everything,
Gene. - Eric
This is Mickey.. His famous last words (after breaking EVERY weekend)
are: "It's getting better!" He has since went to the Porsche 930 axles
and hasn't broken THAT yet. (But he still has trouble)!
Well, I am finally putting up some pictures
on my transmission section. You can link to them from there, however I
will put a page here ASAP. Everyone wants more pictures, and I will put
them up as soon as I find time. If you have any you would like here, e-mail
them to me and I will put them up. Pictures of broken things, roll-overs,
hills, stuck etc...
