Welcome to my website.
Hi, my name is Haroon. I am 34, happily married (my wife asked to mention this) and a proud Pakistani. I am currently residing in Alberta province in Canada. My home city is Lahore where I spent the first 25 years of my life. Like other young Pakistanis, I wanted to be a fighter pilot :-) but after completing my 18 years of education, I ended up with M.S Electrical Engineering degree in hand. But I never repented my decision. Probably, being an engineer, I can serve my country better.
Flying is still my passion and whenever I find some spare time from my busy everyday routine, I try to spend it making aircraft models, watching aircraft documentaries, or surfing through some good aviation web sites. While in US and recently in Canada, I also had a chance to fly the Cessna 152 and get a first hand experience of flying. For people having no or very little information about Pakistan, here is a brief description of my country. Pakistan is basically a muslim country that came into being on August 14, 1947. It is in south east Asia. Total population is close to 160 million and the area is 7,96, 096 sq. km. Its among the 10 most populous nations of the world and the only muslim country in the nuclear club. Islamabad is its capital, though Karachi is its largest city. My home city Lahore, is the second largest city in Pakistan.
Flying is not my only hobby. I love nature espcially in mountains far from any human population. Travelling , hiking , Camping, and canoeing are some of my favorite hobbies.
I have lived and worked in Los Angeles for a little over 5 years. During these years, I travelled to about 13 states and visited some of the world famous landmarks, theme, wild and water parks, metropoliton cities etc. I have also visited Saudia Arabia (October 96) and England (December 2000). Before settling in Canada, I came here twice (July 2000 and 2002). In Pakistan, I love the serene surroundings of the Northern areas espically Gilgit, Hunza, the famous Silk Route (Pakistan-China border), Swat, Kaghan Valley, Azad Kashmir, Abottabad and Murree.
