My sister & I went there in November of 2000 for vacation. We had our fair share of weather patterns (from Sun to Sleet; including 5" of snow on Election Day).The tourist book claimed weather to be in the 60's & to average 340 days of sun!!! Though we made the best of it and saw some of the most beautiful country around. We hung around Santa Fe proper for a couple days then started to stray to further destinations such as Bandolier National Park near Los Alamos. We tried to head out to Chacos, but the inclimate weather made the road out there all but impassable by 4 wheel drive vehicles only (and they were hesitant!). So instead we head up to Taos & then the Rio Grande Gorge (you better not be afraid of heights there). Here are some of the beautiful places & people we saw out there. |
