My Pink Floyd Page
This page is dedicated to my favorite band of all times.
Oh bye the way, which one's pink?
This is my favorite Pink Floyd song - Wish you were here.
So, so you think you can tell
Heaven from Hell
Blue skies from pain
Can you tell a green field
From a cold steel rail ?
A smile from a veil ?
Do you think you can tell ?
And did they get you to trade
Your heroes for ghosts ?
Hot ashes for trees ?
Hot air for a cool breeze ?
Cold comfort for change ?
And did you exchange
A walk on part in the war
For a lead role in a cage ?
How I wish, How I wish you were here
We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl
Year after year
Running over the same old ground
What have you found ?
The same old fears
Wish you were here
Pink Floyd is not a person, they are a band. There are five main people that are associated with the name Pink Floyd.
- Roger Keith ( Syd ) Barret - January 6, 1946
- George Roger Waters - September 9, 1943
- Richard William Wright - July 28, 1945
- Nicholas Berkeley Mason - January 27, 1945
- David Jon Gilmour - March 6, 1946
The name Pink Floyd came from albums by two bules artists, Pink Anderson and Floyd Council, that were in Syd Barrett's collection. It had often been said that using the name came to Syd in a vision.
Around 1965, the band started out as "Sigma 6". They then became the (T- Set), then the Megadeaths, the Screaming Abdabs and in late 1965 they became The Pink Floyd Sound, and finally Pink Floyd.
