About the tech page

The purpose of this board is to simply inform and educate you at no cost to yourself. In fact, I aim to help you save money by teaching you to do it yourselves, my intent is to teach you more about your Ranger/BroncoII’, and to build your confidence in yourself while doing so.  There is no greater accomplishment, than for one to do it themselves.
This page is still under construction, and will continue to be for some time.  Like or trucks, It will probably never be finished.  I will be updating information and correcting as we go.  I have much more to say about most topics but due to time restraints, I am simply trying to add enough information to get this page off to a good start. I will fall back at a later date to complete articles in their attire.
This is based solely on my opinions and experiences with the 83-88 model years mostly.   However, due the model years overlapping, a lot of these tips still apply on much later models as well. I am searching to get all the information I can to complete this page to include all the years.  I will indicate when a specific motor, front end, year, etc, is an issue.   There are also many other sources to get good information from, Popular Mechanics, sells a CD-Rom disk with loads of information about your truck.  Also Helm’s, Chiltion’s and Haynes makes repair manuals as well as some others.  I suggest that you get all the material available to you, as I have found with having all the books you still are left short of information that you may want or need.

   About KTRANGER

I have owned several Rangers and Bronco II.  To describe me best is to say,  “I love to 4 wheel”.  I currently own an 88 Long bed 4x4 XLT on 35’s.  I mud bog race this truck as often as possible with great success, and wheel it several times a week.   I also have a Bronco II 4x4 on 33’s.   My wife claims it as hers though, I'm still the chief mechanic and builder.  Both vehicles are built to wheel, and have proven themselves to be very reliable over the years of abuse.  I live in Lakeland Florida, any Floridians or visitors to our State that would like to wheel, contact me through my e-mail address given above.  Maybe we can get together.
I am by no means a professional mechanic and do not claim to be.  I am simply trying to help others with what I’ve learned in the school of hard knocks.  Some of these lessons have cost me a substantial amount of money and great loss of time.  I have also added some tips and tricks to this page to increase your wheeling fun.
I am dedicated to the Blue Oval.  I am a true die-hard Ford fan. “PERIOD!”  I do however find myself working on the enemies, vehicles at times. This simply reassures me more and more why I drive a Ford! If you are not a Ford fan, I won’t hold it against you.  I figure the jokes already on you.
Dan Hoffmann and I have also agreed to post tech tips from other people here.  We both agree that being team players are more beneficial to everyone else and that no one person has all the answers.  We will however be screening them for several reasons.  Mostly due to overlapping information, so don’t take it personal if we do not use yours, as there are many other factors as well.  If we do use a Tech tip or trick from you, you will receive complete credit by your named signed at the end of the tip, or somewhere in or by it.  Special Thanks go to Dan Hoffmann for the inspiration to finally put this in writing and making this happen!  I am proud to say I am very glad I have picked Dan to team up with.  Thanks for visiting!  I hope you will find this site informative.
