Modifications
Front Suspension
- Nissan Motorsports Torsion bars- adjusted for about 1.75" of lift, 30% stiffer than stock
- Desert Steel A-Arms
- Nissan Motorsports steering stabilizer- Standard on non-North America (W)D21s)
- Rancho 9000s
Rear Suspension
- Rancho .75" springs- 20% stiffer
- Rancho 9000s
- Removed rear swaybar- really helps articulation and with the stiffer coils street handling isn't offensive.
- Removed rear bumpstops- the stock bumpstops were design to act like an overload leaf. They are big and soft and no longer needed with the stiffer springs. I've had mine off for about six months now and there has been NO contact between the axle and the
frame. Also I get NO fender rubbing. see pic
Other
- 2" body lift- alittle cheesy I know, but the pathfinders body is mounted pretty low on the frame. The extra clearance has really saved the rockerpanels more than once. see pic A Pathfinder with a 2" bodylift has exactly the same amount of frame showing as a stock Nissan 4X4 pickup.
- 32" BFG Muds
- American Racing wheels- 15X8 with 4.75" backspacing $35 each. 4.5 or 4.75" backspace wheels(like stock) are the key to fitting big tires on a Nissan. The truck had standard offset wheels on it when i got it, the front rubbed with 235/75/15s.
- TJM bullbar
- 88 200sx steering wheel- I picked this up at pick-n-pull. Its the same diameter as the stock one, leather, black, its says "nissan" on it, completly bolt on (horn too) and the coolest part, it cost me $5. I bet just about any Nissan wheel would bolt on, except maybe those with airbags.
