History of My SVX
Date my SVX was Built: July, 1991 VIN Number: Owners of the car The car was bought new in '93 and the first owner drove it for about 60K miles. According to the dealer records, he had nothing but routine stuff done during this period. The second owners bought the car in July of 1995 and had it about two years. Most of the service history shown below is on their watch. The second owners planned to keep the car for a long as possible but they found a new, '97 SVX with less than 1000 miles on a dealers' lot and bought it. Since the car was discontinued over a year ago, they felt that this was too good an omen to pass up. In my reading about the SVX, I have found this to be common. I have literally never seen anyone who didn't love the car. Anyway, the second owners liked it so much they bought another one! Why am I selling it? I guess I got into this is the same way the second owners did. After they found their new car, they had to move the old one quickly to be able to afford the new one. In talking to them, they asked for a certain price and I offered them what I thought would be lowball offer - but they said yes and now I've got an SVX! However, I've got two other cars and don't really need this one. So I've put a lot of work into it to make it like new and am offering it at a below market price. Is 84K a lot of miles? For a Subaru, no! These cars seem to run a long, long time with 200K miles not uncommon. I personally own a Legacy with 134K and it's like new. Do a search on http:http://www.classifieds2000.com/ and check out the Subarus (including SVXs) for sale. You'll note that lots of them have over 100K miles. In addition, I've never heard of a single SVX that died due to old age. These cars are still young and most have been cared for pretty well due to their price and the fact that the owners like them so much! Remember also that the car is only 6 years old. This works out to about 14K/year in mileage. About what you would expect. Service History: I have most of the service documents on the car from the 60K point and a dealer report for the work they did before that. This material includes a recent top to bottom inspection that shows the car is in super shape. The car has used no oil or other fluids in over 700 miles that I have owned it.
Present condition: The SVX is in excellent condition by any measure. The tires have about 23K on them and have a 40K warranty. They are Pirelli tires from Sears. Sears will balance and rotate for free as long as you own the tires. The interior is totally clean and all devices work. The paint has a high gloss and is in great shape. The body has only a couple of dings. These are normal for SVXs that exist in the real world and are only visible from certain angles and light conditions. 95% of these cars have more. The front hood has a slight dent right above the right headlamp assembly. Check out the pictures - I bet you can't find it. I include this info just to be complete - the exterior and interior of the car is like new. What I have done to the car:
