Ongoing and Upcoming Projects: I am in the
finishing stages of Martone's third release. I have also started working
on vocal songs with my brother Paul. I am also starting to build a project
studio for our recordings.

David is a rapidly rising force to be reckoned

EARLY BEGINNINGS
David's first major live performance was at
the age of 9 when he and his brother, Paul, were requested to play at CHCH TV
11 Studios, Hamilton, Ontario, for a Christmas music special, playing, classical
guitar and singing and playing traditional carols. David's next performance
at the age of 11 (requested by the Town of Lincoln) was on Global 6 TV for a
live broadcast of a Wintarld draw held in Beamsville, Ontario. David and his
brother Paul played with his father John's folk band for this special show.
At 12, he was awarded two Kiwanis Music Festival
Scholarships (St.Catharines) and was asked to perform in the "Stars of the Festival"
Concert for three consecutive years as a result of his outstanding placement
in the Festival each year.
FORMATIVE YEARS
Throughout secondary school, David played in
original/cover bands in local clubs and his quest for music knowledge took him
to the Music Industry Arts Program at Fanshawe College in London, Ontario. Here
David studied Music Engineering, Production and theory. At 18, he was awarded
"Performance of the Year" for his song "Mystery", which was released on A &
M Canada in 1989.
After graduating from Fanshawe, David's interest
in engineering grew and at 20 years of age:
- was working full-time, seasonal, at Boblo Island as Head
Audio Technician, in Windsor, Ontario
- held a part-time position at D.A.N. Studios as head engineer
(Windsor area)
- taught 20 students a week as well as doing sound for
Leone's Music's big european tour show that came to Canada.
PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES .... BERKLEE COLLEGE
OF MUSIC
- he was invited to come to the world renowned Berklee College
of Music (Boston, MA) on a partial Professional Music Scholarship, which he
accepted. He has received major scholarships throughout his continuing years
of study.
- was featured in "Guitar Player" in July 1992's issue as
a spotlight new talent towatchfor. "David's state of the art chops and musical
ideas reveal more than enough talent to please even the most discriminating
hard rock band", wrote Mike Varney in that issue.
- started working at City Studios and Bottom Line Production
in Boston, MA as a session player and mix engineer.
- kept up his love for live sound and lights by working
from 1992 to the present at the Berklee College of Music Performance Hall,
which seats 1,500 people.
- worked at the Berklee Performance Centre as a lighting
designer and assistant as well as stage manager for such visiting and recent
bands as Celine Dion, Sara McGlaughlin, Dream Theater, Bare Naked Ladies,
etc.
- was awarded the William G. Leavitt Memorial Scholarship
from Berklee for the most outstanding guitarist of 1993.
- was also showcased as Berklee's finest rock musician in
their 1993 Guitar Night Performance Concert.
- signed a contract with Legato Records for a compilation
release called "Guitars on the Edge". which featured some of the best guitar
players in North America.
- produced, arranged and engineered an independent release,
"Feel the Silence ". which was given very good reviews by local magazines
and international album review sections in magazines.
- was requested to play with Steve Morse, well known guitarist,
at the Berklee College of Music Performance Concert.
- worked with Barrio Production and Publishing as a session
musician for jingles and individual artists.
- was awarded the Stanley T. Johnson Scholarship (Berklee)
for continuing guitar studies.
- was requested and did music clinics at Berklee with the
Assistant Professor of Music, Mr. Jon Finn.
- is now in the finishing stages of his 2nd album, which
was produced in Toronto, Ontario. David is currently seeking a distribution
deal throughout Canada and the U.S.
- was also showcased at Berklee in their 1995 Guitar Night
Performance Concert.
- taught at Berklee College of Music for the last week in
August 1995 as a session teacher in their guitar department for new students
coming into Berklee.
- completed his degree course at Berklee, receving his B.A.
in Music Performance with a "Laude" designation.
- David played at the Hard Rock Cafe with his group DAVID
"D" in Vancouver, B.C. June 30, 1996 for an Aids Benefit, which was co-hosted
by Justine Priestly and Bill Monroe. The evening's feature artist was the
Blues Legend of Vancouver, Mr. Jim Byrnes.
- is presenting "PARKER" Guitar Clinics in Western Canada
under the direction of Ericson Music.
- released 2 CD, "Shut Up and Listen" and "Zone".
which is currently available in records stores throughout Vancouver and throughout
the internet.
- endorsing "double whammy bars" for Vibro-Tech of Surrey,
B.C.
- attended the NAMM show in California in January 97 and
98 for the above company and also featuring their product
