Father and Son tandem wins at Crystal Springs :  Burlingame, Ca. Feb 13, 2005

“Like father like son”. How often have we heard the phrase? Last Sunday a day before Valentine, this truism was validated again when the Santaines’ father (Al) and Son (Ed) tandem captured  the PAGA’s Monthly tournament February edition. Al won flight A honors sneaking out a tie-break win over Archie and Joji by virtue of his lower handicap.   Ed in Flight B duplicated the feat by eking out Freddie via the same tiebreaker. This is the first time a father and son have won in the same tournament. Next month, once Ed is promoted to Flight A, perhaps we can see the headline “Son upends Dad”. For Al, when that confrontation comes, I’m sure he would rather see this headline “ Who’s your Daddy?”.. Watch out for the next month’s headliner!!!
