The Shop

		We built "the shop" a couple years ago in anticipation of the kichen remodelling project.  A tiny old milkhouse used to exist where the shop currently resides.  The hip roof complements our nearby barn and provides ample lumber storage in the loft.
One of my first projects for the shop was this workbench.  I got the plans from the New Yankee website and used 3/4" birch for most of the construction.  I'm glad I took this picture while it was still clean.
		The south wall has a butcher block workbench equipped with a woodworking vice.  Next to that is my Rockler router table (on wheels) and Dewalt drill press.
The east side of the shop contains my pipe clamps and portable planer.  There is also a jointer there now too.
		The mitersaw shown under the tablesaw has since been moved to it's own portable workstation.  The planer now resides under the table saw.
This is really a more accurate depiction of my workbench.  It doesn't really get much cleaner than this nowadays.  My biscuit jointer is always on the right edge along with a dewalt electric drill.  A large Keller dovetail jig takes up most of the left side of the bench along with a wide assortment of jigs I have made.  And of course, no shop would be complete without a good stereo to listen to the Cubs while working.
