On Monday May 17th 1999 I left my home in Hong Kong and the comfort
of paid employment to return to England using what (I think) is the longest
overland trip possible, from Singapore to London. I travelled via
Scandinavia and passed through 15 countries, travelled about 23,000km (
14,400 miles). I spent roughly 240 hours on trains (including 80
hours in one go) and also travelled by boat, bus and was forced to take
one (internal) flight in Laos. I reached England and unemployment
on August 30th. You can either pick a country above,
or Read what I thought as I travelled
