I love your HomePage. Teachers are the backbone
of our society.... right behind good parenting.
You and I have good parents, which gave us our
solid base... and our early teachers are so memorable. I can remember the names and faces
and styles of the 1st-6th grade teachers, and how
much they contributed to my life. Love, Rita

Lisa, I love your page and everything you do for the kids! For anyone else reading this who doesn't already know, this is the best first grade teacher you can find! From mentally retarded to emotionally disturbed in an overcrowded school she reaches each
and every one of the kids who pass through her door. I've worked with her for 10 years or so and have found no "warts" on her yet!!! Keep up the GREAT work Lisa - there's a special place in heaven just waiting for YOU!!!!!!!! :)

I'm your cousin through the PYLES line...Ned & Wanda O'Kelley's eldest daughter, big sister to Rita (and Mark).
I've been researching our family and finding all sorts of wonderful relatives I never knew...or knew existed in some cases. I just started in February and one of the first things I found on the internet was a list of Granny (Grace Pyles O'Kelley) and her
siblings from a Lisa T's grandmother's bible! Who was Lisa T, I wondered. About 10 days ago I had a wonderfully entertaining conversation with Mary S who told me her daughter's name and that she had a web page but couldn't remember "all the dot com stuf
"!
So, thanks to Lydia Sharp, I now know what ya'll look like! A handsome bunch, of course.
I hope you'll keep in touch...I'm still gathering and processing information on our family as fast as I can get it and have time to do something with it. Hopefully the end result will be a "book" for anyone in the family who is interested.

P.S. I love Shel Silverstein and made sure my 2 sons (now 24 and 16) grew up with his writings.

You sound like every child's idea of a favorite
teacher! I think that the best teachers are those
who know how to bring out the best in us, showing
us that we do indeed have worth. My favorite teacher was a huge, sloppy, bear of a man, but he so intensely wanted us to love learning, we also fell in love with him too. A real teacher he was, someone who cared.

Hi Isis, it's me, Imperial. After Geocities did their renovations, it seems that we've all disbanded... and nobody left me the forwarding address... :(
Oh well. I got an e-mail from Sweetlady inviting me to a Christmas Chat this evening! I probibly won't be able to make it, but I headed over to the chatsite today to check it out... I just missed you, but managed to get your URL from the occupancy listi
gs.
My, my, you've done a wonderful job with this site, and I, personally, found it quite interesting and inspirational. Yes, I'm still teaching 1st grade Religion classes, but this'll be my last year... off to college! Over the summer I taught 6th grade va
ation bible school, and they were obnoxious! All boys... maybe that has something to do with it... but it was an experience anyway.
I'll miss teaching when I go to college. Granted it's only an hour every-monday, but still, it's great! After last year I had parent's coming up to me and asking, "Are you teaching next year? Little Steven really wants you as a teacher." Now how can a
yone say no to that? And of course there's the little girl who told her mom that she can never miss one of my classes, because it's her favorite thing in the whole-wide-world!
Being a priest, I'll never have kids of my own. Sure I can adopt, but I don't know if I'd be able to run a parish, be there for the people, and still raise a child on my own. I consider my class "my kids," because they're so preceous!
Well, This turned out to be longer than I expected, but I just wanted to let you know that I was alive... I'll stop by in the chatroom once in a while (don't worry, I've got the new "regular place" url from Sweetlady) inbetween psych papers and scholarsh
p forms. Take care. :)
