PROJECT CARE is a partnership between Special Child Health Services and the Statewide Parent Advocacy Network (SPAN). This service has been added to strengthen the relationship between the Case Management Units and families. Resource parents of children with disabilities are trained to help other parents.

Ways the Resource Parents can help:

As a listener

Visiting a family at home or in the hospital

Supporting parents at annual education planning meetings

Helping with educational and recreational information

Bringing parents together through support groups

Facilitating parent awareness programs about community resources
