Taktsang, the 'tiger's nest', gets its name from its founder. It is believed that Guru Rinpoche (a Buddhist saint) landed at the monastery site on the back of a flying tiger. All Bhutanese try and visit this site at least once in their life time. The monastery was built around the 14th century and is one of the most visited pilgrimage sites in Bhutan.
