EXPERIENCE:

EDUCATION/TEACHING: Providing elementary school instruction in Social Studies, English Language, Mathematics, General Science, Creative Arts, Religious and Physical Education to students in 5 to 12 year age group in accordance with National Curriculum. Planning curriculum, preparing lesson outlines, and developing teaching aids. Preparing primary students for Common Entrance Examination for high school placement, achieving annually, over 75% placement rate. Advising parents on placement and related matters. Co-ordinating inter-school sporting activities. In co-operation with other staff, planned programmes for promoting educational, physical, and social development of students. Programmes included sporting events and a range of cultural activities. Observed students for signs of antisocial behaviour, counselled pupils on such behaviour and advised parents where necessary. Assisting Head of Primary School (Trinidad) in general administration including interfacing with school inspectors and other Education Ministry professionals. Providing support to Primary School (Infant and Junior Houses, V.I.S.) in core areas of the International Schools' primary curriculum. Acquired high school teaching experience during in-service teacher training and teaching assignments at the American International School in Vienna.

PRIVATE TUTORIAL SERVICE: Provision of private instruction in English as a second language (ESL) and remedial English. Students are drawn from the major international schools in Vienna such as the Vienna International School, the American International School and the French Lycée of Vienna as well as to students from Austrian Primary Schools in Vienna preparing for the entrance test for the Vienna Bilingual Schools system or simply seeking to improve their English. Provision of individual private (one-on-one) tuition in Mathematics from primary School up to Middle School level (Grade 9) to students at the major international school in Vienna. Provide support to primary and middle school level students with special education needs (SEN), particularly in the areas of English and Mathematics.

STATISTICS: Supervised 10 enumerators in collation of statistical data from over 2,000 households in Trinidad's 1980 housing and population census. Ensured accuracy and completeness of data submitted. Identified data gathering problems for discussion and resolution with statisticians at Central Statistical Office. Took undergraduate degree courses in statistics.

FUND RAISING: Organized school fund raising events to support sporting and educational activities. As member Fund Raising Committee, United Nations Women's Guild, participated in strategic planning meetings, evaluation of funding requests, identified and interviewed prospective aid recipients.
