The Amiable Sluts, Anne Chotzinoff Grossman and Lisa Grossman Thomas (authors of Lobscouse & Spotted Dog) generously gave a fine fare-well dinner for listswains who were to depart on the following tide on board the Rose. A genteel time was enjoyed by all. Great quantities of sea-pie, lobscouse, pondoo, pickled salmon, spotted dog and jam roly-poly were consumed. The List Voice, Patrick Tull read from The Reverse of the Medal and Paisley Griffin gave away beautifully embroidered commemorative tee shirts. A massive firework display, thoughtfully provided for our pleasure by Anne and Lisa, brought the evening to an explosive conclusion.
For those listswains who were unable to attend, and as a souvenir for those lucky enough to be have attended, we present a selection of sights and sounds from that memorable evening.
Also visit Patrick Tull's account of the Rose Voyage.
