The Mongol Empire was a vast amount of land, ruled by the great Mongol Khans in the 13th and 14th centuries.  One of these great Khans, Genghis Khan (meaning 'Ruler of the Universe'), was the most famous of these leaders because he was the first to take action to unite the many Mongol tribes.  His descendants followed his example and managed to unite almost all of western and eastern Asia, thus controlling one of the largest land empires in history.

" The greatest happiness is to vanquish your enemies, to chase them before you, to rob them of  their wealth, to see those dear to them bathed in tears, to clasp to your bosom their wives and daughters "
