This house was built in 1865 by Rufus Farnham. Mr. Farnham Made a claim between 38th & 40th Avenues North, the Mississippi river and about Humbolt Avenue North. He owned the first shingle mill in Hennepin County. This house is considered an important site to the North Mississippi Historical Society, although this house is not torn down yet, it is in danger of destruction. There are not many Pioneer houses left in the Minneapolis area, let alone in Minneapolis. The ones that are left should be saved.
