Castle in the Forest
Castle in the Forest
Walking down a dark forest path,
I notice the birds chirping their songs,
frogs croaking their pleasure.
Trees seeming to reach high into the sky.
The dirt path becomes rockier,
and trees not quite as thick.
Wind starts picking up.
Faint sounds come along that wind.
I can't seem to make it out,
but i follow its beckon, for i am entranced.
Seems to be pulling me along,
As i get closer to the source,
trees think out and the birds seem quiet now;
no more of the croaking frogs.
I'm almost there and the sounds are now clear.
Can hear laughter and playing,
among human and beast alike.
And now I'm here; there before me stands a great castle.
There are knights and their damsels;
lords and ladies; princes and princesses;
and court magicians too; all having fun, holding court.
As I walk into the great hall,
cant help but feel that this is where I am meant to be.
Scanning the faces, two stand out before me.
At the center, a couple who can only be king and queen.
They seem to feel my eyes upon them and look to me and he says,
"Welcome weary traveler to our castle. Make yourself at home."
And the lady only smiles warmly before turning away.
And the Lord fades back into the scene and i take it all in,
knowing at last that I've found my home at last.
