Captain Dave's NewsCaptain Dave looks at the secret to Back to Back success
When St. Blight took over as coach in 1997, he was quoted as saying that the year would be a time of rebuilding the team. In this exclusive, we discover what was meant by Malcolm Blight's statement. These pictures taken at training reveal Blight showing the team what a football looks like. As you can clearly see, this revelation is greeted by a mixture of embarrassment, bewilderment and surprise by certain players who, under the previous coach, had thought that they had joined up for an athletics carnival consisting of sprints, laps of the oval, and high jumping exercises. Isn't it amazing what a difference a few elementary skills can make to a performance.

Over the last few years, training sessions under Blight have become a highlight for both members and supporters alike. Here we see an early Sunday morning training session conducted during the off season. Many of these devotees camped out overnight during torrential rain to get a good look at the team doing laps of Footy Park in around 3 minutes flat.

The Official Club Song

We're the pride of South Australia
We're the mighty Adelaide Crows.
We're courageous, stronger, faster
And respected by our foes.
Admiration of the nation
Our determination shows.
We're the pride of South Australia
We're the mighty Adelaide Crows.

We're the pride of South Australia
We're the mighty Adelaide Crows.
We give our best from coast to coast
Where the story will be told.
As we fight the rugged battles
The flag will be our goal.
Our skill and nerve will see us through
Our commitment ever grows.
We're the pride of South Australia
We're the mighty Adelaide Crows.

That Unofficial 1998 Anthem

It's the Crows again,
Can you believe they've won the flag again;
South Australia is going off it's brain's
Cause Adelaide are premiers again

On grand final day all the experts had a lot to say
how they couldn't combat Carey's strength and class
but Peter Caven kicked the Roo boy's ass

It's the Crows again
Jarman, Smart, Bickley and Hart they all were firing
And then in the end
Pagen said 'I've had enough, lets blow the siren'
they started crying

It's the Crows again
Will this Victorian nightmare never end
South Australia hijacked Melbourne for the night
Now they've gone and made a saint of Malcolm Blight

All those fans again
singing 'We're the pride of South Australia"
And McLeod again
won the Norm Smith back to back they're going to hail ya,
North couldn't nail ya

Now they're home again
Walking proud and tall like big Shaun Rehn
Just like 1997, oh what bliss
The only difference is they've sucked a heap more P***

Back to back, it don't get much better than this
