ISRAEL

Banias (Caeserea Phillipi). Excavation of Hellenistic Caeserea Phillipi through modern Banias. Under the auspices of the Institute for the Study of Archaeology and Religion at Pepperdine University.

Ein Gedi. Excavation of Essene and Roman through modern settlements at Ein Gedi, by the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

Meggido. Excavation of the 5,000 years of occupation of the site, by Tel Aviv University and Pennsylvania State University.

Sepphoris. Excavation of the Hellenistic through Byzantine City, conducted by the University of South Florida.

Tel Dor. Excavation of the port of Tel Dor, occupied from Canaanite through modern times, focusing on the city's citadel and Roman temples. Conducted by the University of California at Berkeley.

Tel Kedesh. Joint excavation of Tel Kedesh in Upper Galilee, inhabited since the Early Bronze Age, by the University of Michigan's Kelsey Museum of Archaeology and the University of Minnesota.

Tell es-Safi (Gath). Excavation of the Philistine city of Gath. By Bar Ilan University and the University of York.

Vadum Iacob. Excavation of the Templar Castle of Jacob's Ford. Directed by Dr. Ronnie Ellenblum of the Geography Department of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

JORDAN

Abila of the Decapolis. Excavation of the Hellenistic city and tombs, under the direction of Dr. W. Harold Mare of Covenant Theological Seminary.

Jabal Hamrat Fidan Archaeological Project. Excavation of prehistoric sites in Wadi Fidan and the Jabal Hamrat Fidan area, directed by Dr. Thomas Levy of the University of California at San Diego.

Wadi Arabah. Survey and excavation of sites of all periods, by the Wadi Araba Archaeological Research Project.

Wadi Ziqlab. Excavation of Epipalaeolithic, Neolithic, Chalcolithic, and Early Bronze Age sites in Northern Jordan, conducted by the University of Toronto.

SYRIA

Tell Tuneinir. Excavation directed by Dr. Michael Fuller and Neathery Batsell Fuller of St. Louis, Missouri.
