About us…

The Barnegat Bay Pipe Band was formed in 1996 in response to the lack of a competitive band in the South Jersey area. While the BBPB is still growing, we look to make a good showing in the 1998 competition season.

Last year was the BBPB's first season of competition. While we were unable to bring home any of the hardware, the bands interesting musical selection and good (well, for Grade V, anyway) tone made an impression on our co-competitors.

The BBPB is outfitted in the Nova Scotia tartan, and plays Warnock chanters with McAlester reeds. We currently have about 15 active members, and more are always welcome. Practices are held on Sunday mornings from 9 AM to 11 AM at the Ocean Beach Yacht Club. For directions contact any of the band officers.

The band would like to congratulate Keith and Linda Massey on their new son, Conor Patrick, born November 17. Congratulations also go out to Ron and Amanda Lamo on their soon-to-come new addition.
