AUB is a unique University in Bangladesh. Its salient features include the following:
a) AUB provides for dual modes of education: distance education and on-campus education, which is unique in Bangladesh. Dual modes of education exist mostly in developed countries.
b) The academic curriculum of AUB has been developed by the help of experts from reputed international universities abroad to provide high quality education comparable with the standard of a good university in the US and other developed countries.
c) An international Advisory Board consisting of members from the US, Canadian and Australian universities advises on academic standard of AUB. Besides, a pool of experienced academicians from overseas has been mobilized to teach at AUB.
d) In academic programs, AUB has adopted an inter-disciplinary and ethico-human approach so that the graduates of AUB will be professionally sound and morally upright and equipped with multi-dimensional insight to face the challenges of complex life in the modern world.
e) AUB will follow the full credit hour system that provides flexibility to students to adjust their studies according to their interest, ability, needs and desired time plan.
f) AUB can reach every nook and corner of Bangladesh by its distance mode of education and thus high quality education will be accessible even to remote areas of the country including the rural poor.
g) Through distance education, AUB can go beyond the boundary of Bangladesh with its high quality education, especially Asian countries and particularly to its South Asian neighborhood. Some of these features have been further highlighted later.
