Welcome to Waller High School Solar Raycer Website You have reached the Waller High School Solar Raycer Team website and thanks for your interest. This is an informal introduction to our solar race car project. The students participating in the project are enrolled in the Waller High School in Waller, Texas a small medium sized 4A school outside Houston. What is a Solar Raycer? A Solar Raycer is our name for a solar powered car that we intend to enter and race at the Texas Motor Speedway, July of 2004 and from Dallas, Texas to Los Angeles, California in the summer of 2005 in the Winston Solar Challenge - sponsored by The Winston School of Dallas and The Dell Computer Corporation. The Solar Challenge is dedicated to the educational development of science students, but on a broader scale, the race objectives are to stimulate interest in technical education, promote the use of renewable sources of energy, and raise public awareness of these issues.
