Loyal to our Queen
The Orange Order is convinced and dedicated
monarchists by tradition, education and profound religious conviction,
loyal subjects of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Queen of Canada and the
Commonwealth. As Canadian citizens, all three elements of our allegiance
are synthesized into one; the Crown for us is at one and the same time
the expression of our political beliefs, the focus of our loyalty, and
the expression of our citizenship.
The Monarchy personifies our heritage. Our
history is our direct link with the whole tradition of the British system
of justice and government. The great victories in the cause of freedom
and human development that mark the centuries of British History are also
our victories.
As a monarchy, Canadian Nationhood is decorated
by dignity, colour, pomp and circumstance to the Royalist Tradition.
The Monarchy gives us a standard of excellence
in behavior that serves as an example and inspiration for all.
The Monarchy serves all our people regardless
of wealth or rank. The monarch in our system of justice is a real and personal
source of appeal against injustices, a humanitarian means to correct the
inevitable errors of man-made and changeable laws, the only means of introducing
the Christian concept of forgiveness into state justice. The Crown is the
protector of the minority groups, the poor, and the troubled peoples in
our society.
