Merry Meet - Silliness aside, I appreciate that you have put up a page like this. Christo-Paganism isn't a path I necessarily agree with, but I recognize that it is not that unusual -- Santeria and Voudon, for instance, are both ultimately Christo-Pagan traditions in nd of themselves. They syncretized Catholocism with their ancestral beliefs. I can see where this can happen again with a new reframing for Paganism, as it is perceived as a "new" or "revival" religion.

I can relate to what people say about the "Christo-Pagan" lifestyle. Right now I am "straddling the fence"...what do I believe in? Who should I follow. I was raised in the protestant church, have attended the charismatic full gospel churches and four years ago was introduced to the pagan/wiccan religion. I have always felt a closeness to nature, a sense of spirituality in communing with the earth...and being a woman, finding it hard to follow life according to rules set down by the patriarchy. (sp) I see God as Father, Jesus as Brother, and the Holy Spirit as the Mother figure.."the Comforter". My main hang-up is "you're going to go to hell if you don't follow the rules". Your way of casting the circles is great. Your sense of humor is great and don't let the Bible thumpers/judgers in the chat rooms get you down. I'm also in process of "blending" beliefs. I converted to Catholicism after being "called" to do so my senior year of high school (I was raised ELCA Lutheran). Unfortunately, I was called to "old" Catholicism. New Catholicism--or this stuff that barely r veres Mary and the Saints or encourages scapulars,rosaries, and chaplets, doesn't work as well for me as blending Pagan ritual (which is mysteriously similar to Old Catholic ritual) and Catholic names (saints, Our Lady, and of course the Trinity). If the Old Catholics could blend Paganism and Christianity to create Catholicism (that WAS how they converted the Pagans--by mixing the beliefs), then why can't we today?

I like your page but I am pagan and I serve The Goddess as you serve God, but do you shun those who aren't of your religion and do you worship the goddess at all or are women still considered evil? I'm Pagan and I'd like to know more of your type.

You have created a pretty good site , However you can not have a Catholic witch , Christianity and Peganism do not go together. Saying someone is a Catholic witch is like saying somene is a Catholic Protestent. Other then that youve done a good job. I my self am still learning Wicca . Maybe one day most people will learn to except it for what it is and not what the ignorant have made up . But I believe it will not be in the near future due to the close mindedness of some people . I don't see any problem with the term "Catholic Witch." The problem is with the particular institution, the *Roman* Catholic Church. Often, I find myself at odds with my own Christian tradition, the ELCA. However, I am nonetheless quite Catholic. -- Pamela
