Home Again, Home Again

Travelling through the ages

Warm blood splatters,

War cries fill the air,

One piercing scream,

The challenge met,

a return home.

A solemn procession,

Gleams in the torchlight,

Final offerings poured,

Dust settles in eternal rest,

a return home.

Scratches in the dirt,

Light filtering through,

Muffled shouts of joy,

Greedy hands pulling roughly,

a journey from home.

Wrapped in a shroud,

Closed in a box,

Placed in a chariot,

Excited voices exclaim,

a journey from home.

A meeting is set,

An exchange is made,

Confusion ensues,

Peace again,

a return home.
