RAMBUNCTIOUS SPRING

Nodding trilliums blooming white
then pink to purple
announce spring in the woods.
Greening grass thrusts forth 
taunting mower.
Natural flora (dubbed 'weeds' by some)
rocket skyward.
Plump robins belt out territorial songs
or march about the meadow.

Slimy slugs slink
and 
      eat
          eat
             eat

Winter's gone down in defeat.
