John  He's now thirteen years old and doing fine; with lots of friends in the area: Aled, Thomas, Luke, Daniel and Edward... He likes a few pages on the net like E-Zone, and has become pretty proficient at finding and downloading all sorts of hints and cheats for games - despite Dad's disapproval!

Last summer he had a lot of fun in the sea with the flippers and "boogie board" that he got for Christmas.

He also made some pretty elaborate projects with his electronics set. Here's some pix of his "Crystal radio" with a "Booster Amplifier" atttached to the earth and aerial (antenna), and "One Transister Amplifier" and "Two Transister Amplifier" driving the speaker:

Used three 9v batteries! Having a good aerial for this sort of radio is recommended - instead, this is what he had - an extension cord slung out onto the deck! 

...but the "earth" was good - even if the cable is a bit non-standard:
