The God Defined

The God is the universal father. Like the Goddess he takes on many forms and many meanings to Wiccans. He is just as important as the Goddess, as he is necessary to balance out the femine power represented by the Lady, and in this fashion harmony can be obtained.

The Lord is represented by the Sun, the Earth, Summer, fertility, hunting, harvest, new growth, retribution, war, protection, strength, passions, love for and of life, the Sky, wind, and change. Without him we would not have the changeing of the seasons.

Wiccans will see him in many ways. The following is a partial list of some of the things we attribute to him: The Sun, gold, brass, candles, blazing fires, daylight, sunset, winter, the South, acorns, pine cones, wands, grains, stones, valleys, seeds, forrests, the bull, snake, fish, eagle, lizard, horns, spears, swords, quivers, bows, arrows, and the sickle. The God is all these things and more. He transcends time, He is eternal, changless, all knowing.

Everything changes, but nothing is truly lost.
