Ok, I know self advertising is really low, but hey no one else is going to dedicate a page to me so why shouldn't I? This page has very little to do OI and more to do with yours truly.
On the 15th of May 1978 I was born with Osteogenesis Imperfecta, a disability that makes the bones weak. Despite being extremely fragile I outlived the expectations of many. I break legs all too frequently and I risk breaking a rib laughing, coughing or sneezing. I break a rib at least once a month and that's being optimistic. I am not joking, although I do enjoy a good laugh. My parents faced a choice early in my life, do they wrap me in cotton wool or do they let me lead a normal life. Luckily they chose the latter. I would much rather go to school and enjoy myself rather than sit at home and rot! I have one older brother who is 14 months older than me. He has no disability at all and is 6 foot with an enormous appetite. I on the other hand I would stand just under 3 foot if I could stand and I weigh a whole 13 kg! I am quite cheap to feed but clothing is no fun. I have to go to the ....... um.... young persons... section and it is extremely hard finding something that hasn't daises or cartoon characters on it or hot PINK. I lead the life of other people my age and I 'm determined to always do so.
What do I do in my spare time?
With what spare time I do have and lately there hasn't been much of that I like to muck round with my mates, go to the movies, listen to music, go on the net or play computer games. Games like Doom are kinda fun but the novelty wears off after a while. I prefer strategic games like Red Alert. When I'm not on the computer I like listening to all sorts of music, I'm fairly tolerant of all types of music from Live and Garbage to Deep Forest and Cat Stevens. Some Kiwi bands are seriously under rated, the Feelers and Stella* are cool, Strawpeople are fun too. I love Enigma and Deep Forest and other types of harmonic music. I played chess at school was captain of the Chess Team even though Blair could walk all over me. I play Magic: The Gathering although I only have a minute collection. Sometimes there is something good on at the movies although not often. Failing all that there is the net.
I am doing my final year of my BA degree at Otago University staying at Hayward Hall (a hall of residence for university students). I'm majoring in history but also doing Computer Science and earlier this year Information Science.
On IRC (one of the few places you converse with other netties) I am known as Napoleon. All though you may think it's me with illusions of grandeur, it's not. It was a name given to me by my old High School Rector. He said that I ran chess club like a little Napoleon, or so I'm told. My history books did not cast this figure in a completely favourable light however he did get things done and so that's how I got my internet nickname.
