The
moon stopped, caught among the midnight pine
and
stars sprinkled wide across the velvet of night;
A
chill breeze played among the bushes
and
You came to me.
You
enveloped me in love so profound
that
I could not speak the words
to
reply or even formulate
one
coherent thought.
I
knew in utter surety that I am precious
as
Your creation cradled me while
Your
love held me close and washed
my
eyes with tears.
How
I longed to speak to that Love and sing
in
abandonment of self.
There
was no sound to break the midnight feast,
only
the opening of my soul.
