ABOUT THIS BOOK: "THE END OF THE WORLD"
Here's a little book that was written almost 30 years ago when several religious groups and authors were predicting the end of the world. The Jehovah's Witnesses had predicted the world would end in the fall of 1975. Hal Lindsey, in his book "The Late Great Planet Earth," had predicted it would end in 1981-88. Tens of millions bought Hal Lindsey's book and his pseudo prediction. (It didn't end!) Such is what prompted the original writing of this book.
This little book contains historical/biblical expositions of some of the key "apocalyptic" texts used by those 1970's doomsayers in their predictions: texts like Matthew 24 and II Peter 3. Texts that contain the "telltale" signs they saw as evidence that the end of the world was near. Texts and signs that were actually related to the siege and destruction of Jerusalem in AD70 and not in the end of the world in the 1970's and onward. (The book was originally entitled, "Second Peter Three: Jewish Calamity or Universal Climax?") The book sold out and has been out of print since the 1980's.
Now, due to the upcoming Millennium and resurrection of doomsday prophecies (using the same old "telltale" signs!), this little book is going to be reprinted. (Due out just before the end of this century...or this world?!) For a free catalogue containing information about this book, as well as Gerald Wright's other books, call toll free: 1-800-433-7507
